Providing high sensitivity and low noise and dark current, the S9226 CMOS linear image sensor produced by Hamamatsu Corp. is suitable for input applications such as position detection and image reading. Its integrated timing generator allows operation with just start and clock pulse inputs, and its advanced signal processing circuit's charge amplifier has input/output features that enhance sensor performance. The unit measures 12 × 7.87 × 1.5 mm and can be operated by a single 3.3-V supply. It covers the spectral response range of 400 to 1000 nm and achieves peak relative sensitivity of 100% at 700 nm. Typically, it has dark current of 3 fA, and readout noise of 0.3 mV (low gain) and 0.6 mV (high gain).
