OptoTest.jpgFor measuring insertion and return loss on fiber optic components, OptoTest Corp. has introduced another version of the OP930 FTTX. Measuring to –80 dB, the system includes stabilized laser sources, a USB interface and OPL-Pro software for automated cable testing. It interfaces to custom applications via the dynamic link library. The wavelength range of the optical power meter is 830 to 1700 nm. The return loss meter measures up to 2400 m with 0.1-dB resolution. Insertion and return loss for two wavelengths are displayed on one screen. An integrating sphere and large-area detectors are available for multifiber applications.
