For Complex Shapes
Deposition Sciences Inc. (DSI) IsoDyn LPCVD (low-pressure chemical vapor deposition) process is suitable for coating almost all types of optical glass, including ball lenses, crystalline materials, ceramics and metals.

lpcvd.jpgThe high-temperature (approx. 500 °C) process creates uniform coatings on surfaces, inside and out, that are deposited over the entire surface of an irregularly shaped optic in a single-pass operation. The thermally driven, organometallic process is configured to deposit multiple layers of silicon dioxide, tantalum oxide and titanium dioxide as needed.

DSI’s fully automated IsoDyn LPCVD process is capable of manufacturing very complex filters and providing coatings with service temperatures as high as 700 °C. The multilayered coatings are resistant to thermal shock and can be deposited on optics as small as 0.3 mm. They also feature highly stable wavelengths that do not shift with temperature.

With ball lens optics, the uniformity of the coatings simplifies assembly and eliminates the need for specific orientation of a part, greatly reducing labor-intensive, device assembly costs.

The LPCVD IsoDyn coatings meet or surpass the rigid Mil-C-675 testing standards for severe abrasion, adhesion, humidity and salt fog tests, making them suitable for a wide variety of high temperature materials.
