BOZEMAN, Mont., Aug. 26, 2012 — The LSC 1650 from Quantum Composers lets the user take control of his laser system from the palm of his hand. Traditionally, researchers have spent time creating from scratch bulky custom controllers for laser diode drivers. The laser system controller (LSC) eliminates this step.
It can be used for custom laser systems, R&D, and any laser application.
The company developed the LSC 1650 in response to customer demand for a universal handheld device that allows remote computer control of a laser system. It expands the capabilities of the proprietary laser diode driver controller (LDDC) 1550 and is a convenient way to orchestrate the operation of multiple laser system components.
Advanced features such as an internal pulse generator, Q-switch triggering, an external trigger input and sync output simplify laser system design, monitoring and control.
The device enables easy control of current levels, pulse modes and interlock states; provides voltage and current level monitoring of the diode driver output; recalls settings for controlling different drivers with a single LSC; and has a USB port for manual or computer control.
