The luca luminance measurement system from opsira GmbH is now available with a FireWire interface. The company says that the device can be used without a frame grabber plug-in card and that it connects to various computers, including a notebook. A portable power supply is available for free-field measurements. An extension of the luca system, the lucalux, enables the measuring screen to be calibrated via a "wizard," for one-shot, high-resolution measurement of the illuminance distribution. It also allows calculation of the far-field intensity distribution of the measured system or of the measurement data of any distance.
