Rigaku Analytical Devices Inc. has announced the Katana handheld laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy analyzer, enabling alloy identification for use in scrap metal sorting, quality assurance in metal fabrication and positive material identification in petrochemical operations.
Designed for on-the-spot identification of the most difficult alloys, the device has an Ingress Protection 54 rating, providing protection against dusty and harsh work environments in scrap recycling yards.
GPS and a macro camera allow for instrument and sample tracking.
