LANNION, France, July 13, 2010 — The LaserBoxx series, announced by Oxxius SA, are laser diode modules offering high optical performance in a driver integrated compact box. The size of only 40 × 40 × 100 mm allows easy integration into existing instruments. They are available at 375-, 405-, 445-, 488-, 640- and 660-nm wavelengths at output powers of up to 130 mW in TEM00 circular or cost-effective elliptical beams with M2 <1.5.
A high-power multimode version is also available at 375, 405 and 445 nm with output power of up to 900 mW.
Features include power stability of <2% over 8 h, low noise of <0.5% rms from 10 Hz to 2 MHz, fast transistor-transistor-logic modulation of <10 ns rise/fall times, extended analog modulation of >2 MHz at -3 dB, and analog, USB and RS-232 control interfaces.
The LaserBoxx modules are built on a highly stable mechanical frame to assure good beam pointing stability and long-term output power stability for the single-mode fiber coupling option.
Spectral range for all models is 1 nm, tolerance is ±5 nm, beam circularity is >85%, polarization ratio is 100:1, operating temperature is 10 to 50 °C, power consumption is 2.5 W, and start-up time is 1 min.
Dedicated either to OEM integration or to laboratory use, the modules are suitable for use in flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, fluorescence excitation, materials analysis, polymer curing, light scattering, metrology and other demanding research and industrial applications.
