Laser Beam Propagation SystemThe BeamSquared M2 laser beam propagation system from Ophir Optronics Solutions Ltd. has been announced by MKS Instruments Inc.

The compact, portable system measures beam quality to optimize performance, providing automated measurement of the propagation characteristics of continuous wave and pulsed lasers in under one minute. The system includes the BeamSquared M2 software, a high-accuracy CCD, InGaAs or pyroelectric array camera and an optical train.

Users can run the system in automated mode from UV to NIR, telecom wavelengths, and in manual mode for terahertz and CO2 laser beams. BeamSquared is designed for continuous use applications in scientific research, rapid prototyping, fabrication and machining, among others.
