Ophir Photonics has announced that its BeamGage next-generation laser beam analysis software now supports Gigabit Ethernet cameras for high-speed applications. GigE cameras transmit at speeds of up to 1 Gb/s and are supplied in a robust, miniature package that measures 34 x 34 x 69 mm. They leverage the benefits of industry-standard technology: ready availability, broad compatibility and lower cost. Ethernet’s high bandwidth combined with the sophisticated beam analysis capabilities of BeamGage provides a laser measurement system for demanding applications such as machine vision and industrial drilling, engraving and cutting. The beam profiling software has been newly designed from scratch using advanced tools and technologies. It is based on the proprietary and patented UltraCal baseline correction algorithm.
