IRVINE, Calif., March 18, 2010 – Newport Corp. announced the Model 6100 benchtop laser diode and temperature controller. The 500- to 1500-mA current supply range, along with the 32-W temperature controller renders it suitable for use in demanding laboratory applications.

It combines stability for TO-56 and TO-9 laser diodes and butterfly packages, and its design incorporates advanced digital signal processor-based pulse interference detector control and ultrastable current control to achieve <0.001 °C temperature stability and 1.3 µA rms ripple, respectively.

Features include a four-line alphanumeric menu system for easy navigation of functions and settings. Two large seven-segment displays offer a clear view of actual current and temperature readings. A fast LIV (light vs. current and current vs. voltage) measurement function is built into the unit, with analog input provision from a power meter. The driver is compatible with many of the company’s laser diode mounts and accessories.
