ST. LOUIS, March 16, 2015 — Portable Power Systems PPS-45-150PDLDummy loads from Portable Power Systems allow the user to simulate a laser diode, laser diode bar or laser diode array while configuring their laser diode driver and any test equipment before actually connecting their laser to the electronics.

The dummy loads provide a more accurate simulation than a resistor, and give the user a level of comfort knowing that there is less risk of damaging their laser.

Models are available in various voltage and current configurations to suit various applications. The model shown is the PPS-45-150PDL, which simulates up to 45 V and up to 150 A with up to 20 percent duty cycle and/or up to 30 A CW.

The dummy loads can be used in the industrial, military, medical and educational markets.
