Ophir Photonics Group’s Pyro-C pyroelectric laser energy sensors represent an upgrade to its PE pyroelectric pulsed sensors. The compact detectors provide low measurable energy, a long measurable pulse width and high accuracy. They have a user-adjustable threshold, preventing false readings in noisy environments, and they combine a high damage threshold and high repetition rates with a wide range of wavelengths. The devices accurately measure high-repetition-rate lasers over a spectral range from 150 nm to 12 μm and use a single diffuser to cover the ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared wavelengths. They can measure millions of pulses with no change in calibration. The built-in wavelength correction and high damage thresholds are suitable for applications such as photolithography and Nd:YAG laser welding.
