Nutec Components LaserLatheNutec Components Inc. has announced a linear-rotary motion subsystem dedicated to cylindrical laser micromachining.

The LaserLathe system expands the performance envelope for speed, precision and user friendliness, which are desirable attributes in tube-cutting operations for microdrilling, helix-spiral cutting, surgical instrument production, implant machining, microwelding and similar operations.

Available in four travel ranges from 250 to 625 mm, the compact design achieves low moving mass for very high acceleration rates on both linear and rotary axes. Because complex workpiece patterns require constant vectoring, the acceleration capability is a significant criteria for high productivity and part accuracy.

The integrated workholding devices include five collet systems plus a three-jaw pneumatic chuck.
