ANDOVER, Mass., Nov. 2, 2021 — Laser Propagation SystemThe latest Ophir® M2 BeamSquared® laser propagation system from MKS Instruments Inc. automatically and accurately measures the propagation characteristics of continuous wave and pulsed lasers in <1 min. with Rayleigh length up to 20 m, in UV, NIR, and telecommunication wavelengths.

The system can optionally measure wavelengths of >1.8 µm, including CO2 and terahertz, in manual mode. Conventional focusing lenses from 400 to 500 mm can be used in a variety of continuous use applications, from scientific research to rapid prototyping to fabrication and machining. Calibrated 750- and 1000-mm lenses are available for use with long Rayleigh range lasers that involve both a long-waist location and small focal spot size.
