Laser Rangefinder ReceiverThe Model 758B.1 hybrid laser rangefinder receiver from Analog Modules Inc. features high-performance double-pulse discrimination.

Weak targets can be seen through a close, partly obscuring strong target. Its multiple target resolution is 12 m over six orders of magnitude with the second pulse 10 dB down. A thermo-electric cooler is used to cool the detector and critical preamplifier components resulting in a stable sensitivity at high temperatures.

A linear channel and noise detector continuously adjusts the threshold for a constant false alarm rate. The Model 758B.1 allows for compensation of variations in background light-induced noise. Pulse widths from 1 to 40 ns are processed over a dynamic range of seven orders of magnitude, and operation is possible from 1.0 to 1.6 µm. Its small size and printed circuit board mounting make it ideal for compact systems requiring high target fidelity and maximum performance.
