Amada Miyachi America Inc. has announced the Sigma laser tube cutter designed for use with microsecond fiber and femtosecond disk lasers.

The cutting system provides high edge quality for both metals and plastics, ideal for medical devices such as tubes and stents. The cutter has 2-, 3- and 4-axis motion options with the ability to cut tubes with diameters from 0.2 to 25 mm, making it ideal for wet and dry cuttingf or both on and off axis cut geometries.. Two different laser sources are available.

An automated tube loader option, a 22-in. graphic user interface on a swing arm and high-speed direct drive integrated X and Theta lathe axes stages are featured.
