The GeoLasPro from Coherent Inc. is a laser ablation system designed for the introduction of samples in laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. It incorporates the CompPexPro 193-nm-ablation laser with a sampling speed that can be varied from 1 to 100 Hz. The system features a sample observation microscope, which can be made collinear with the laser beam delivery optics via an all-mirror microscope objective. The laser includes interchangeable circular and square shaping masks and can achieve a homogenized spot with a diameter of 5 μm. Applications include quality control of materials and pharmaceutical samples.
