PowerTechnology.jpgPower Technology Inc. has introduced high-power blue and violet laser diodes for use with its PM laser module, 405 nm at 60 mW. The diodes can be used in many applications that have employed argon-ion, helium-cadmium and blue Nd:YAG lasers, including fluorescence, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Measuring 12.57 × 50.80 mm, the laser module is designed for use in standard or rugged OEM environments and contains a precision current source for applications that require durability and high output power. It offers diffraction-limited optical performance, operates on 8-V direct current, and has 120-mA maximum operating and laser drive current. It is compatible with n-type and p-type diodes in automatic power control mode, and with all types in constant current mode.
