Tailored for 405-, 440-, 470- and 635-nm commercially available diode lasers, the MaxDiode cleanup filters offer 90% transmission over a defined range of each diode’s expected wavelengths. Available from Semrock Inc., they have extremely steep edges, which result in high blocking to filter out the out-of-band spectral noise, leaving the desired laser line. Their square low-ripple passbands help maintain consistent output power as the wavelength varies from laser to laser, as the laser ages or as the temperature changes. The thin-film filters are suitable for spectroscopic applications, such as fluorescence excitation, where it is necessary to measure a weak signal against the background of laser noise.
