Leica.jpgLeica Microsystems GmbH has released the Leica LMD7000, a laser microdissection system available with a power-adjustable, high-precision laser. High pulse repetition rates enable fast excision of single cells, cell clusters, or thin and soft samples, and the laser also can dissect thick or hard specimens. The system uses gravity to collect the dissected material in a contact- and contamination-free manner. Laser beam movement is controlled by high-precision optics, allowing precise cutting accuracy at high magnifications as well as high cutting speed at low magnifications.
