SOMERSWORTH, N.H., Aug. 19, 2010 — Airex Corp. has announced the development of an ultralow-profile linear motor.

The C12 series of three-phase brushless linear servo motors can also be operated from a brush type servo drive as cost-effective single-phase voice coil motors.

Precise position, velocity and force control are possible in either mode. Features include slim-line construction with a 12.7 × 42.4-mm profile, a non-cogging ironless design, continuous/peak force to 42/112 N (9.4/25 pound force) and a maximum bandwidth of >100 Hz.

Designed for use in precision life sciences, photonic autofocus and semiconductor applications, the motors offer vacuum and cleanroom options.
