PI Q-521PI (Physik Instrumente) LP has announced the Q-521, a miniaturized, piezo-driven linear positioner.

The ultracompact positioning system is 21 mm in width and comes with travel ranges of 12, 22 and 32 mm. Options for the system include economical open-loop designs, low-cost closed-loop versions and high-end feedback sensors providing 1-nm resolution.

Applications include biotechnology, nanotechnology, precision optics and the life sciences.
