Linear StagesPrior Scientific Instruments Ltd. has announced the HLD117 series of linear stages for inverted research microscopes.

The HLD117 stages float over a magnetic track, driving the X and Y stage plates over precision bearing guides, providing near frictionless movement. Scanning speeds of 1 μm/s up to 300 mm/s are achieved, suitable for a range of applications from rapid screening to detailed imaging. A repeatability of 1.15 μm, resolution of 0.05 μm and accuracy of 0.045 μm/mm of travel are featured.

The devices provide constant speeds with low velocity ripple, making them suitable for start-stop, point-to-point imaging.
