PI (Physik Instrumente) LP has released the M-692 series low-profile, ultrasonic linear translation stages. Suitable for high-speed positioning tasks with limited space, the closed-loop, linear motor-equipped micropositioning systems are available in two standard versions: M-692.1U4, with 20-mm stroke, and M-692.2U4, providing 90 mm. Both versions are equipped with integrated linear encoders for backlash-free positioning. They can be arranged to form compact X-Y systems. Their design is scalable and can be varied to provide travel ranges to 300 mm for original equipment manufacturer quantities. Vacuum-compatible versions also are available. Applications include biotechnology, micromanipulation, microscopy, automation, trsearch and development, and quality assurance testing.
