The PIglide A-123 family of wide-body, high-accuracy linear stages from Physik Instrumente LP are low-profile precision positioning stages equipped with preloaded air bearings and integrated linear encoders.
Utilizing cogging-free, direct-drive linear motors, the device and its noncontact components produce a motion platform that operates without friction for performance, quality, and longevity. With its high-force linear motor, the linear translation stage can reach peak velocity in milliseconds, while the high-capacity air bearings can support payloads of up to 60 kg. They are available with travel ranges from 50 to 750 mm, can achieve 30 m/s² acceleration, and reach a maximum velocity of 1000 mm/s.
