The SQL-3405 linear positioning stage measures 25 x 25 x 10 mm and has a 5-mm travel range, maintaining automated “set and hold” micropositioning for optical microscopy, laser alignment and other applications where space is limited. Available from New Scale Technologies Inc., the stage is driven by an integrated piezoelectric Squiggle motor that provides incremental motion of 100 nm. Its positioning sensor achieves closed-loop control with a resolution of 10 mm. The device uses precision ball bearing guides and can be assembled to create X-Y and X-Y-Z systems. It is equipped with end-of-travel limits and modular connectors for system integration.
