PI.jpgThe M-686 low-profile X-Y open-frame piezomotor stage from PI (Physik Instrumente) LP moves at a rate of 100 mm/s with a response time in milliseconds. With closed-loop 0.1-μm-resolution linear encoders, the device has a 78 × 78-mm clear aperture and a travel range of 25 × 25 mm. It combines the nanopositioning and scanning capabilities required for automated positioning applications in inspection and microscopy. Compact and stable, the stage has a height of 27 mm, a 150 × 150-mm footprint and a self-locking mechanism.
