M2 Beam Propagation Analyzer

Upgraded, Smaller
Ophir-Spiricon Inc. has reduced the size of and upgraded its 200S beam propagation analyzer, which it said is still the only ISO-compliant system for all reported measurements.
Software improvements in the M2-200S include more efficient algorithm execution, which has decreased the measurement reporting time by 2X to 3X, making it possible to report M2 in under two minutes. The software automatically controls these measurements and translations, as well as incremental beam attenuation.
Dimensions (in inches): 10 X 7 X 17
Measurements:
M2x,M2y, Ky, Ky,BPPy, BPPy;
width at waist: Wy, Wy divergence angle: θx, θy; waist location: Zy,Zy
(Statistical results are available on all measurements.)
Wavelength range: ultraviolet operation between 250 and 370 nm (handles quad and triple YAGs), visible operation from 400 to 700 nm (handles double YAGs), near-infrared (NIR) operation from 650 to 1100 nm (1064-nm YAG), NIR operation from 1000 to 1800 nm (1064-nm YAG plus telecommunications applications)
"“Ophir-Spiricon has a proprietary method of using software apertures to exclude noise beyond the wings of the laser beam," said Kenneth Ferree, vice president of sales and marketing. "This contributes greatly to beam width measurement accuracy, especially when the beam is focused to a small waist and covers only a small number of pixels. With customers wanting to deploy applications for continuous use -- three shifts a day, seven days a week -- increased attention in these areas and endurance testing of critical components has been a major focus in the new M2-200S."
