The Halcon version 7.0 machine vision software from MVTec Software GmbH offers a component-based matching function that facilitates the detection of objects, even if they have multiple moving parts. The company says that users can now generate models for all orientations and scales more quickly and easily. The software provides a library of more than 1000 operators for blob analysis, morphology, pattern matching, metrology, 3-D calibration and binocular stereo functions. It can automatically combine images from multiple cameras. Supporting the QR and Data Matrix ECC 200 codes, the version identifies data codes, even if they appear to be disturbed, mirrored or inverse, or if they are etched or embossed on metal surfaces.
