Cognex Corp. has announced that its PatMax geometric pattern-matching software is now available on its In-Sight vision sensors to provide accurate feature location despite changes in image angle, size, rotation and appearance. The In-Sight 5100, 5400 and 3400 sensors incorporate the software to handle variations in part appearance that are caused by process irregularities, reflective surfaces, partial occlusion, uneven image formation or nonlinear changes in lighting. They also include a full library of image processing and analysis tools for inspection, measurement, identification and guidance applications.
