Multichip color LED
DURHAM, N.C., April 30, 2009 – Cree Inc. has expanded its high-power color LED product family to include the multichip MC-E LED with red, green, blue and white chips all in a single package.
The company is also pairing its LED chip innovations with its XLamp XP-E package to deliver a family of discrete, high-power color LEDs. The XLamp MC-E color’s package design combines white, red, green and blue LED chips in a single component to provide design flexibility for color-changing LED applications that require high flux from a small lighting source, including entertainment and architectural lighting.
The XP-E color LEDs provide up to 22 percent more flux than its XLamp XR existing color portfolio, with an 80 percent smaller footprint. At 350 mA, it is available in flux bins up to 500 mW for royal blue, 39.8 lumens for blue, 107 lumens for green and 56.8 lumens for amber and red.
