Headwall Photonics has launched a family of compact microspectrometers. The Nanospec VIS covers the 350- to 1000-nm range; Nanospec NIR, 900 to 1700 nm; and Nanospec SWIR, 1600 to 2500 nm. All incorporate the company’s holographic diffraction gratings and produce spectral data for field-based applications. They achieve 4- to 5-nm spectral resolution and can be used separately or in combination by stacking. The devices can be integrated into handheld diagnostic instruments, environmental monitoring sensors, and portable test and measurement instruments.
