OmniVision.jpgOmniVision Technologies Inc.’s CameraCube technology is a 3-D reflowable camera system that combines a single-chip image sensor, an embedded image processor and wafer-level optics in a compact package. The OVM6680 produces 400 × 400-pixel resolution, and the OVM7690, VGA. The devices can be soldered directly to the printed circuit board, eliminating the need for additional components such as flex cables and interposers. Suitable for use in mobile phones, notebook PCs, surveillance, automotive and medical cameras, they exhibit thermal tolerance of up to 260 °C.
