Version 3.2 of the Comsol Multiphysics scientific-modeling package from Comsol Inc. reads geometry files created with all major CAD packages. Formerly called Femlab, the software introduces Script, a stand-alone product with command-line modeling that enables a consistent system of engineering units. A moving mesh feature allows a model to simulate moving parts and parametric geometries. Improved solvers handle models with millions of degrees of freedom and calculate the answers more rapidly. A suite of optional modules can import and read a variety of CAD and mesh file formats, enabling users to bypass the geometry-creation step.
