Newport Corp.’s NewStep NSC200 motion controller is an integrated, handheld stepper motor controller-driver that provides single-axis control of NSA12 motorized actuators and MFA-PP linear stages. The device, which can be operated manually or with a computer via an RS-485 communications link, features a 64× microstepping ratio for smooth, high-sensitivity positioning. The company says that when the controller is used along with the proprietary
NSC-SB switchbox, it can manage up to eight NewStep positioners, providing eight-axis control. The device features a DSP that enables firmware expansion.
