Nikon Instruments' Eclipse 90i is a fully motorized, ergonomically designed and scalable upright microscope for applications in the fields of medicine, cell biology, drug discovery and biochemistry. A USB interface provides external control, and a digital imaging head improves fluorescence performance. An integrated epifluorescence attachment produces high signal-to-noise contrast ratios. Motorized fine-coarse control operates at 5 mm/s, and an encoder-incorporated Z-axis achieves resolution to 0.05 µm and reproducibility to 0.1 µm. A control switch manages light distribution, nosepiece rotation, fine or coarse focusing, light intensity, filter cube rotation and aperture.
