Exfo Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. has launched the FOT-930 MaxTester, a next-generation, multifunctional optical loss test set for network service providers, installers and contractors, and for cable TV operators. The handheld device delivers fully automated bidirectional loss test results in 10 s at up to three wavelengths on a single-mode port or two wavelengths on a multimode port. A single unit can contain a power meter, insertion loss and optical return loss meters, a visual fault locator, single- and multimode light sources, a digital talk set, a fiber length tester and a fiber inspection probe. The device has a high-resolution color display.
