For machine vision applications with small exposure areas, special lighting is provided by LAT elektronik AB. The application range of dark-field lighting covers the detection of edges, defects and contours. The advantages of this lighting are realized when the distance between the lighting and the object is very small. For these applications, the company developed a small dark-field ringlight with an outer diameter of 25 mm that is suitable for miniature cameras with M12 lenses. Two new spotlights with a 7-mm diameter and a spotlight with a 16-mm diameter fitted with high-performance LEDs allow small exposure areas to be brightly lit, even when they are relatively far away from the object. The spotlights also can be designed as multihead light units.
