MERLIC 5.1 software from MVTec Software GmbH features expanded functions to quickly develop and operate machine vision applications.
Deep optical character recognition (OCR) has been added with hardware compatibility optimization to accelerate deep learning applications. The holistic deep-learning-based approach can robustly localize characters, regardless of their orientation, font type, or polarity, and it requires significantly less parameter tuning. Recognition performance is further increased by the automatic grouping of characters. MERLIC 5.1 also includes Artificial Intelligence Acceleration Interface (AI²) plug-ins for the NVIDIA® TensorRT™ SDK and the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit.
