The improved ultrafast, 2-μm-pore MCP TOF detector offered by Burle Electro-Optics Inc. is suitable for mass spectrometry applications. The detector now incorporates the patent-pending MountingPad MCP technology, which, according to the company, significantly improves robustness and performance, and eliminates storage, flatness and cracking problems. The detector provides 350-ps pulse width and 250-ps rise time. It is identical in form, fit and function to traditional detectors, allowing for a seamless upgrade.
