The D8 Screenlab screening system integrates Bruker AXS Inc.’s D8 Discover two-dimensional x-ray diffraction system and Bruker Optics Inc.’s Raman probe. Introduced by the two companies, the platform for advanced materials research consists of an x-ray source, optics, 2-D x-ray detector, laser source, probe and auto-zoom video microscope. The system enables the x-ray diffraction pattern, the Raman spectrum and the optical image from a sample to be obtained in one run from a materials library. Its PolySnap pattern-matching software allows the processing of the data and correlates the analysis results. The dual-method technology has applications in the pharmaceutical industry.
