Matisse and Solstice Lasers
MKS/Spectra-PhysicsRequest Info
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 30, 2013 — Spectra-Physics, a Newport Corp. brand, is introducing two scientific lasers. The high-power Matisse is a tunable, single-frequency laser with >6.5 W of output and a narrow 60-kHz external linewidth. The Solstice is a one-box ultrafast amplifier that produces <50-fs pulses in the kilohertz repetition rate regime and doubles the peak power at >70 GW.
The Matisse is pumped with the Millennia eV. Combined with its near-diffraction-limited TEM00 beam quality, the laser is used in molecular and atomic cooling, trapping and spectroscopy, atomic clocks and microcavities.
The Solstice amplifier offers high stability, a good short-pulse width with long-term performance, low noise and day-to-day reproducibility. Long-term stability is guaranteed at 10 °C to ensure reliable data collection. The proprietary and patented XP cavity provides good beam quality with M2 <1.3 for driving optical parametric amplifier systems. The Solstice is used in time-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy, micromachining and nonlinear optics.
