VHT5000 single-mode, metal-coated optical fibers from AFL feature advanced glass chemistries for improved performance in hydrogen-rich environments.

With excellent optical performance in permanent, long-term exposure to temperatures up to 500° C, maximum attenuation of the VHT Series is 5 dB/km for all typical operating wavelengths. The fibers are available in multi-km continuous lengths with an industry standard 125-µm cladding diameter, and they are also available in a 500° C metal cable configuration with three fiber channels for multi-measurement sensing applications.
