BUFFALO, N.Y., Jan. 13, 2011 — Titan Tool Supply Inc. has announced the introduction of its micro-video-zoom objective featuring a CMOS camera for use in microscopy or for attachment to a borescope for connecting to a desktop or laptop computer. The low-cost unit is supplied with a 6-ft USB cable and TWAIN-compliant software and has an adjustable back focal length, allowing it to be used with any monocular microscope tube from 150 to 170 mm long.
Offering a wide range of magnifications, fields of view and working distances for video use, the micro-video-zoom objective/camera is designed for industrial quality control applications including machine vision, group viewing, printed circuit board fabrication, wire bonders, computer-related production and testing, and three-coordinate measuring machines. Because it has a computer-designed crosshair reticle for video applications, it is lower in cost than using a crosshair generator on other objectives.
The lens is available with a choice of six sub-lenses with magnifications of 0.35×, 0.5×, 0.75×, 1.0×, 1.5× and 2.0×. Three video adapters (0.67×, 1.0× and 2.0×) are also available to combine with any of the six sub-lenses to provide a magnification range from 0.16× to 18×. The 3-megapixel CMOS camera features a ½-in.-format Micron sensor and produces resolution of 2048 × 1536 pixels, with shutter adjustments from 1/10,000 to 4 s.
Optional accessories include the LB-90 beam bender for when it is necessary to bend the optical path and shorten the overall length between the camera and workpiece, and the CVN-1 0.5× converter for where larger fields of view are required.
