GOLETA, Calif., Aug. 11, 2010 — Optronics has added the Microcast HD Pro-Lite and Print Pro camera models to its line of full 1080-pixel high-definition (HD) digital microscope camera systems. They are designed to provide end-user customers more flexibility in terms of their HD microscope imaging requirements.
Microcast HD Pro-Lite is a simple user-friendly medical-grade camera system designed to integrate effortlessly with third-party HD capture systems and suitable for use in microsurgical applications. The all-digital output preserves full HD resolution, delivering high image quality to many other types of HD imaging appliances including projectors, monitors and displays.
The C-mount camera houses state-of-the-art three-CCD image sensors and embedded field-programmable gate array software technology to deliver high-resolution and high color fidelity images in real time. It adapts quickly to changing lighting and magnification conditions and is suitable for use in ophthalmic and dental microsurgery, pathology co-observation and conference room visualization, and industrial photomicrography. It is controlled using either a tactile remote control keypad interface or programmable buttons located on the camera head.
Microcast HD Print Pro provides a simultaneous real-time high definition cinematic microscope imaging experience with megapixel image capture and digital printing of images directly from the camera system. It supports the latest Hewlett-Packard and Sony USB printers, and no computer interface is required.
The stand-alone C-mount system includes the same image sensors and software as the Pro-Lite and is suitable for use in microsurgery, pathology and industrial inspection.
The cameras deliver progressive-scan megapixel image resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels with real-time frame rates of 60 fps that reflect natural human vision. The fully automated cameras offer features that provide high-accuracy images in many types of microscope imaging specialties. The company says that the cameras produce motion picture quality content with smooth natural motion, lifelike color and great detail.
