OlympusLifeMaterialScience.jpgOlympus Life and Material Science Europa GmbH has added three features to its SmartCut optical-based dissection instrument. Updates include an automated single CapLift feature with adjustable contact pressure, a PenDisplay option and advanced software. The tool can be used to isolate single cells, cell groups and cell compartments, living or fixed. Designed to decrease sample handling and contamination when isolating cells for downstream analysis, the tool uses a solid-state UV laser, an integrated Olympus 41 inverted microscope and picosecond pulses. It is targeted for pathology, forensic medicine and educational purposes.
