The 2-megapixel DP20 digital microscope camera
from Olympus America Inc. can display a 1600 x 1200 image at 15 fps. It can be operated
without a PC and interfaces directly to a monitor or to a projector via an RGB analog
connection. It can be linked to a PC via USB 2.0, has 2x and 4x electronic zoom
with panning and a continuous-shooting mode that captures a burst of five image
frames in rapid succession. It can provide color images or can be used in gray-scale
mode and has a calibrated scale bar and an under- and overexposure notification.
It is useful for consultation, education and applications that require documentation
such as pathology, hematology, cytology and microbiology.
