A new digital color CCD camera from Leica Microsystems is suited to fluorescence and brightfield microscopy applications.
The DFC7000 T has a highly sensitive quad-tab sensor and is cooled. Users can acquire brightfield images due to the high camera resolution and color fidelity. Meanwhile, the camera’s high signal-to-noise ratio and sensitivity also allow crisp, multicolor fluorescence imaging, even in the near-infrared.
This dual functionality means users do not need to switch cameras during experiments. The camera can be integrated into the microscope environment using the company's imaging software.
Based on the Sony ICX674AQG CCD sensor, the camera features 2.8-MP Exview HAD II technology. Its pixel architecture delivers high-resolution images while maintaining a wide dynamic range. The sensor can be switched to high-speed mode, and delivers a full frame rate of 40 fps or up to 123 fps in 5 × 5 binning mode.
