Microscopy CameraThe Sona 4.2B-6 ultra-sensitive back-illuminated microscopy camera series from Andor Technology Ltd. features a 4.2-MP sensor format with a 6.5-µm pixel size.

The format is suited to obtaining maximum resolution from the commonly used 60× and 40× objective lens magnifications. sCMOS sensitivity allows optimization of signal-to-noise under reduced illumination conditions, thus preserving accurate biology of living cells during extended measurement periods.

The sensors feature 95% quantum efficiency and permanent vacuum-sealed sensor chambers with cooling down to -45° C. A low-noise mode uses correlated multi-sampling to reduce noise while maintaining the frame rates and low exposure times that are vital for studying live cells.
