FRAUENFELD, Switzerland, Aug. 13, 2020 — Miniature-Format Strain SensorsDST20 miniature-format strain sensors from the Baumer Group are compact, cost-efficient solutions for measuring large forces >10,000 N, even in confined spaces.

With a footprint of 28 × 12 × 10 mm, the DST20 sensors offer a stainless-steel housing and IP65 certification for use in rough production environments. The inside’s soft geometry minimizes hardening of the structure to be measured, making it suitable for static and dynamic applications. The sensors come in two measurement ranges of 500 and 1,000 µm/m.

Applications include mechanical and equipment engineering, as well as process automation. The DST20 strain sensor can be integrated into a machine with minimum engineering effort as a lasting solution that can serially replace cold-bonded strain gauges in limited installation spaces.
